Cabinet Reviews Report of Committee for the Regulation of Ownership and Use of Non-Qatari Property

HE Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, chaired the Cabinet's regular meeting held at the Amiri Diwan yesterday's noon. 

At the beginning of the meeting, the Cabinet listened to the explanation made by HE the Minister of Public Health, on the latest developments to curb the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), and the Cabinet affirmed the continuation of the precautionary measures taken to combat this pandemic.

Then, the Cabinet he Cabinet considered the topics on the agenda as follows:

First - Approving: 
1- A draft decision of the Minister of Interior to amend the set of terms and preventive measures for safety and security of Law No. 25 of 2015 regarding civil defense.
2- A draft decision of the Minister of Public Health to amend some of the terms attached to Law No. 9 of 1987 on control and regulation of control and regulation of narcotic drugs and dangerous psychotropic substances, and Law No. 19 of 1993 regarding the regulation of trading in psychoactive substances.

Second - Approving the Ministry of Transport and Communications joining the Global Privacy Assembly, as an observer member.

Third - The Cabinet reviewed the semi-annual report of the work of the Committee for the regulation of ownership and use of non-Qatari property during the period between 20 April and 20 October 2020. Established by the Ministry of Justice, this Committee specializes in several terms of reference, including proposing areas in which non-Qataris are allowed to own and use real estate, as well as proposing conditions and regulations for non-Qataris' ownership and use of real estate.
