Cabinet Reviews Annual Report of the Work of the National Traffic Safety Committee

HE Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, chaired the regular meeting held by the Cabinet at the Amiri Diwan yesterday noon.  

During the meeting, the Cabinet considered the topics on the agenda as follows: 

First - The Cabinet reviewed the proposals concerning Qatar's strategy for research, development, and innovation 2030 and took the appropriate decision in this regard.

Second - The Cabinet approved a draft cabinet decision to amend some provisions of decision No. (8) of 2010 establishing the Qatari Committee for the Alliance of Civilizations.

Third - The Cabinet approved a draft memorandum of understanding between the government of the State of Qatar and the government of the Republic of Indonesia for cooperation in the field of culture.

Fourth - The Cabinet reviewed the annual report of the work of the National Traffic Safety Committee and took the appropriate decision regarding it.

This Committee, established at the Ministry of Interior, has a number of specializations, including the following:

1- Developing policies and plans in the field of traffic and work on developing it
2- Studying traffic problems and proposing solutions
3- Coordination and cooperation between the various entities concerned with the regularity and flow of traffic
4- Proposing the development of legislations related to traffic, road engineering, and transportation, in accordance with the international standards and requirements of the continuous development of roads and transportation
