Cabinet Decides to Allow Private Healthcare Facilities to Provide their Services at 50% Capacity

HE Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, chaired the regular meeting held by the Cabinet yesterday evening, via videoconferencing. 

At the outset of the meeting, the Cabinet was briefed by HE the Minister of Public Health on the latest developments to curb the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), and decided the following: 
  • Amending its previous decision to stop the provision of medical services in private healthcare facilities, except in emergency cases, and to allow any of these facilities to provide some of their medical services that can be provided through modern means of communication. This is by permitting private healthcare facilities to provide their services at capacity not exceeding 50% for these facilities.
  • The decision will come into effect from Thursday, 29 April 2021 until further notice.
  • Continuing the previous precautionary measures taken to combat such pandemic.
After that, the Cabinet approved a draft law on measures for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, and referred it to the Shura Council.
