HE Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, chaired the Cabinet's regular meeting held at the Amiri Diwan yesterday's noon.
At the outset of the meeting, the Cabinet was briefed the latest developments to curb the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). The Cabinet affirmed the continuation of work with regard to the precautionary measures that have been taken in order to combat the pandemic.
After that, the Cabinet considered topics on the agenda, including taking the necessary measures to issue a draft law on endowment after the Cabinet reviewing the recommendation of the Shura Council.
The draft law is being prepared to replace Law No. 8 of 1996 on endowment and comes within the framework of updating legislations to keep pace with developments in this regard.
The draft law includes provisions relating to the establishment of the endowment, its distributions and conditions, the civil endowment and the supervision of the endowment, its maintenance, architecture and investment.
The Cabinet also took the necessary measures to issue a draft law amending some provisions of the Companies Law No. 11 of 2015, after reviewing the recommendation of the Shura Council on the law.
