HE Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, chaired the regular meeting held yesterday by the Cabinet at its headquarters in the Amiri Diwan. 

After that, the Cabinet decided to approve its draft decision to establish an artificial intelligence (AI) committee. 
Under the draft decision, the Ministry of Transport and Communications will establish a committee named the Artificial Intelligence Committee, which will specialize in a number of areas of specializations and among of which are as follows:

1- Establishing mechanisms for the implementation of Qatar's strategy for AI
2- Overseeing programs and initiatives related to AI launched by the ministries and relevant authorities in the State
3- Ensuring its access to sectors, its completion and review in coordination with these ministries and authorities
4- Making recommendations for plans and programs for preparing human cadres in the field of AI applications, in coordination with the relevant authorities in the State
5- Proposing activities and events to support emerging companies in the area of AI and scientific research in this area
