HE Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, chaired the Cabinet's regular meeting held at the Amiri Diwan yesterday's noon.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Cabinet listened to the explanation made by HE the Minister of Public Health Dr. Hanan Mohammed Al Kuwari, on the latest developments to curb the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). After reviewing the report of the Crisis Management Committee regarding the plan to re-impose restrictions due to the Coronavirus pandemic and in the interest of the health and the safety of all members of society, the Cabinet announced a package of decisions to curb the spread of the virus, which would come into effect from today Thursday, 4 February 2021.
The cabinet called on citizens and residents to adhere to the precautionary measures to curb the spread of such pandemic so that anyone of them would avoid the penalties stipulated in the Decree Law No. 17 of 1990 on the prevention of communicable diseases, amended in the Law No. 9 of 2020. The cabinet also called on citizens and residents to complete their transactions with governmental and private entities using electronic systems and applications, and avoid visiting them unless it was necessary.
