About

The Ministry of Endowment and Islamic Affairs (Awqaf) will implement its Ramadan programs this year via electronic platforms affiliated with the Ministry or via the known social media websites, such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram on the Ministry’s account. This is in the light of the full closure of the mosques in the State of Qatar as a precautionary measure to curb the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). His Eminence Sheikh Malallah Al Jabir, Director of Department of Da'wah and Religious Guidance affiliated with Awqaf, has said that the Ministry has been prepared to implement a number of Da’wah (preaching Islam) and awareness programs, since the Ministry has been keen to implement these distance programs by using technology and integrated electronic system.

Mr. Malallah Al Jabir made clear that since the beginning of the spread of the Coronavirus, Awqaf has been keen to present awareness Da’wah messages by attracting Qatari imams; they have conveyed daily awareness Da’wah messages. Moreover, these messages sent via video have been widespread in the community and the number of viewers has increased day-by-day. He also said that during the blessed month of Ramadan, Awqaf will emphasize the programs of the Da’wah messages via social media websites, like Facebook and Twitter and others on the Ministry’s account since prominent preachers will engage in these channels.

He also said that the upcoming Ramadan month would witness conveying various messages to fasting people and these messages would include Sharia (Islamic law) Fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) rulings via “Fiqh Infograph.” In other words, preachers will simplify Fiqh rulings related to fasting via “Da’wah Infographic” in which Sharia message will be conveyed to people.
