The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs "Awqaf" launched, yesterday, Islamweb website in the Indonesian language, which will be added to other languages of the website, namely Arabic, English, French, Spanish and German.
Director of the Department of Da’wa and Religious Guidance, Mal Allah Al Jaber, said that “Islamweb Languages” is one of the ambitious projects that the Department seeks to achieve, to include all languages in the world, noting that the Islamic Network has conducted a comprehensive survey of the most important global languages, the number of speakers, and the percentage of published items on the Internet, especially those related to Islam and Islamic culture, and knowing the services, product and information preferred by the speakers of those languages that can be provided through the website.
He pointed out that the selection of the Indonesian language to be included in Islamweb package of languages came after studying, researching and fulfilling the desire of many researchers, as thousands of fatwas, articles, and various scientific and advocacy materials were translated, and work is still underway to translate many of the axes on the pages of the main website into the Indonesian language.
