The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs (Awqaf) has announced the mechanisms and procedures for organizing Umrah for citizens and residents of Qatar. In a video posted on Twitter, the Ministry said procedures for citizens of Qatar and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) include registration via Tawakkalna app, 3-day quarantine in a hotel, and requesting an Umrah permit through Eatmarna application.
As per the procedures for non-Gulf residents in Qatar, the basic package for Umrah must be booked through an accredited external Umrah agent and a Saudi Umrah company. The agent, through the Saudi company, books the date of Umrah and the visit through Eatmarna application. The Umrah company undertakes the issuance of visas for those residing in Qatar.
The Ministry stressed the need to present a PCR examination certificate proving that the pilgrim is free from the COVID-19 virus, issued by a reliable laboratory from the country in which the pilgrim is located, and the period does not exceed 72 hours from the time of taking the sample until the time of departure to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in addition to the quarantine in one of the hotels for 3 days.
