The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs (Awqaf) has signed cooperation agreement with Qatar Red Crescent on supporting collaboration and strengthening their partnership.

Signing the cooperation agreement between the two parties comes within the framework of Awqaf's keenness to strengthen community partnership with the Qatar humanitarian action institutions, in line with the efforts made by the State of Qatar on the governmental and social levels in humanitarian action. 

The cooperation agreement provides for strengthening the bonds of cooperation in the areas of providing humanitarian, social, economic and health services, supporting humanitarian projects inside and outside the State, by incomes from the endowments of benefactors under the supervision of the General Department of Endowments. This also includes supporting the development programs and projects strengthening health and education, and collaborating with the Department of Zakat Fund to support projects geared for providing aid for social cases inside the State, consistent with the controls on the channels of paying Zakat under the Sharia (Islamic law).
