Government Communications Office has said that the State of Qatar is the first state in the region that has the first specialized Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine in the region; namely Aspetar Hospital. The hospital aims to develop and train athletes worldwide. 

Aspetar Hospital approved last June a new technology that is the first of its kind outside Europe since Aspetar surgeons have been able to use a new therapeutic technology for the treatment and restoration of knee cartilage, as a first medical facility using this technology in the region. 

The hospital is regarded as among the constituent entities of Aspire Zone Foundation, which is the best destination for carrying out sport activity and healthy lifestyles in Qatar and the region.
