About

The Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) has decided to allow the country's health facilities to carry out swabs for the emerging Coronavirus (COVID-19), and send them to Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) laboratories to conduct analysis and release the results.

In a circular released by MOPH Licensing and Accreditation Department, the Ministry pointed out the steps to obtain MOPH approval to conduct analysis of the new Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the private sector, through coordination with HMC laboratories by communicating with the relevant liaison officer and providing an application that includes the number of swabs expected to be performed per day, approval of the type of swab used, communication with the liaison officer for training health personnel at MOPH for training on taking swabs, and using a reagent application, after obtaining the approval of HMC laboratories and the final approval, approving price lists by contacting the liaison officer responsible for licensing, and accrediting health care facilities after passing the training.
