Mr. Tariq Al Emadi, Director of information technology Department at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MOEHE) confirmed that smart buses will be used as of the next academic year, as the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MOTC) is currently preparing the buses to be ready for use with the start of the academic year.
Al Emadi said that the movement app of these buses will be available on the mobile phone, to allow parents to follow the drive of their children's buses as they move to and from schools. In addition, parents will receive an alert of their son's arrival at school, as well as if he arrives home. If the bus delayed parents also can access the application and see the location of the bus.
Al Emadi explained that some officials from MOEHE visited MOTC to find out the latest developments of the project, as it was confirmed that various security and safety measures were in place, including the presence of side sensors and cameras on the buses.
