Event Details

With the FIFA World Cup rapidly approaching, Qatar National Library is organizing lecture will address the historical aspects of managing and hosting large sport events as well as the current and future implications for Qatar. The lecture will be held in Arabic and English.

The lecture will host guest Dr. Danyel Reiche and Dr. Matthias Krug. Dr. Reiche is Associate Professor for Comparative Politics at the American University of Beirut, Visiting Professor at Georgetown University in Qatar and author of Success and Failure of Countries at the Olympic Games. Dr. Krug is an academic and author of Journeys on the Football Carpet, the first book published about Qatar’s incredible football journey.
