Qatar Second National Development Strategy 2018-2022

Last Updated on 28 Oct, 2020

About

The Second National Development Strategy (2018-2022) gives the State of Qatar an opportunity to strategically highlight its very important contribution to the global partnership for development, including substantial humanitarian and development assistance. Qatar's strategy for international cooperation supports the implementation of the objective of enhancing the process of achieving further economic and social development in low-income countries in line with the global goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. It also supports the global partnership for poverty eradication and sustainable development, inequality reduction, economic development and environmental sustainability, and welcomes the contributions of all relevant partners, including the private sector, non-governmental organizations, charity organizations, academia, research centers and the civil society to the partnership envisaged in the implementation of the decisions and outcomes of the international and regional conferences, summits and reviews of the United Nations in the economic, social, environmental and related fields, particularly for achieving the internationally agreed and mutually beneficial development goals. Qatar National Vision 2030 states that Qatar is a responsible member of the international community, and contributes to global peace and security through political initiatives and development and humanitarian assistance. Qatar's active participation in technical cooperation in the development and humanitarian fields, and in identifying thematic areas of focus, and priority states is conducive to the creation of societies where social justice prevails and that are less vulnerable to armed conflict. It is worth noting that the State of Qatar is also very much interested in the global sustainable development goals 11 and 16 on the establishment of safe, integrated and peaceful societies.
