Qatar is an Islamic country with Muslim roots. Although most Qataris are Muslims, the nationality law does not impose any restrictions on religious identity.
The regime and government are linked to Islamic sharia. Non-Muslims, however, also serve in government jobs.
Qatari law allows for freedom of religion as values of tolerance with other religion prevail in the Qatari society.
Visitors and expatriates in Qatar are kindly asked to respect the doctrine, rituals and worship of Islam.
