Government Housing for Qatari Citizens

The Government Housing and Buildings Department provides suitable houses and/or grants and allowances for citizens in the State of Qatar according to their specific housing needs. Projects include accommodations designed for senior employees, citizens with limited income, housing for the elderly and dwellings for orphaned children.

As the entity charged by the State with ensuring that housing shall be provided for all Qatari families, the Department has carried out the following tasks:

  • Conducting researches and formulating effective housing policies for the State.
  • Coordinating and acting as liaison with all government entities and banks associated with fulfilling the goals of the Housing Department.
  • Developing and maintaining a comprehensive database.
  • Preparing planned reports on the housing situation in Qatar.
  • Reviewing applications for housing system benefits and taking the appropriate action to fulfill them, in accordance with current laws and regulations.
  • Implementing laws, rulings and regulations related to housing.
  • Receiving housing complaints and work with the competent institutions in order to find solutions.
  • Taking necessary actions for the maintenance, demolition or rebuilding of accommodation units belonging to the Department.
