Government Housing

The Ministry of Administrative Development Labor and Social Affairs’ Department of Housing provides suitable houses and/or grants and allowances for citizens according to their specific housing needs. Projects include accommodations designed for senior employees, citizens with limited income, housing for the elderly, and dwellings for orphaned children.

Following the State’s mission to ensure sustainable housing for all Qatari families, the department provides the following functions:

  • Conduct research and developing efficient housing policies for the State.
  • Coordinate and act as liaison with all government bodies and banks associated with fulfilling the goals of the housing department.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive database.
  • Prepare timely reports on the housing situation in Qatar.
  • Review applications for housing system benefits and taking the appropriate action to fulfill them, in accordance with current laws and regulations.
  • Implement laws, rulings and regulations related to housing.
  • Receive housing complaints and work with the appropriate institutions in order to find solutions.
  • Take necessary actions for the maintenance, demolition or rebuilding of accommodation units belonging to the department.
